Stress Free Vets
Standing Together for Veteran Mental Health
Serving our country takes courage, sacrifice, and strength—but for many veterans, the battle does not end when they come home. The memories of combat, the loss of friends, the stress of military life, and the challenges of transitioning back into civilian life can leave wounds that are not always visible.
For years, the number 22 veterans a day became a powerful symbol of the veteran suicide crisis. The statistic came from a 2012 Department of Veterans Affairs report, which estimated an average of 22 veteran deaths by suicide each day. Later VA research produced different estimates, including about 20 per day in 2014, showing why the exact number has changed over time.
But behind every statistic is a person—a veteran with a family, friends, memories, dreams, and a story worth hearing.
Stress Free Vets was created with a simple belief: no veteran should feel like they have to face their struggles alone. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and asking for help should never be viewed as weakness. It is an act of courage.
Our goal is to help veterans recognize that there is hope beyond the struggles they may be facing. Whether someone is dealing with stress, depression, anxiety, the effects of trauma, financial hardship, or simply having a difficult time adjusting to life after service, we want them to know that they matter and that their life has value.
We owe our veterans more than a thank-you. We owe them our support.
Stress Free Vets is here to stand beside those who stood for us
